I watched Paddington in Peru last week. Bhai, it’s good timepass film but not as magical as previous Paddington movies! This time our favorite bear with a red hat returns to the Peru jungle. He goes with the Brown family to meet his Aunt Lucy. watch trailer now.
When they reach Peru, Aunt Lucy is missing! Then the adventure begins with a crazy boat captain. Antonio Banderas plays the captain, who is totally over-acting but in a funny way. There is also a suspicious nun. Olivia Colman plays the nun and steals every scene she’s in.
The jungle locations look beautiful on big screen. You can see waterfalls, ancient temples, and colorful birds. However, the story feels more like an action movie than the sweet, funny Paddington style we loved before. New director Dougal Wilson tried his best but couldn’t match what Paul King did in first two films.
Emily Mortimer plays Mrs. Brown now instead of Sally Hawkins, and she’s decent but something feels missing. The CGI bear still looks amazing though!
Kids will enjoy the funny scenes with falling boats and scary spiders. However, grown-ups might miss the clever humor from previous films. you can watch paddington 1 here and paddington 2 here.
Overall, one-time watch if you liked first two movies, but don’t expect same level. Decent family film, nothing extraordinary. 3.5/5!
